Below is the sample itinerary with included and optional tours. Please note that we offer three levels of tour packages (see pricing for more explanation), each stop notates what is included in that stop. Bronze is our base tour, Silver adds a few more tours, while the Gold is everything plus extra. All of our packages exceed ALL other caravan companies so please take a minute to compare what you are getting side by side. We hope to help you live the history of Alaska through getting out by plane, train, boat, and helicopter. This is a sample and does NOT reflect our current route and packages. That will be updated after summer is over and we have had a chance to evaluate any changes we will be making for 2023 and 2024.
This is a sample of our Summer Itinerary. The spring caravan will start at the bottom (Banff,BC) and work up to end at the top (Dawson Creek). Our goal is to put together a route that maximizes our stops with local events such as 4th of July (Spring tour), best places to see the Northern Lights (for Summer tour only), etc. This means that we may reverse direction in Alaska or start/end at different points but the amount of days and driving miles will stay the same. This is not a “cookie cutter” tour, our goal is to give you the best trip that is possible!
**Every person who is booked on the tour will be given a tour calendar that will have accurate dates with drive days and stops, tours booked for that person, free days, addresses so you can have items mailed to you during your trip, and what your fellow travelers are doing on that date (great for friends wanting to do some tours together).
Dawson Creek. Meet at RV Park for vehicle inspection and final prep. Welcome dinner and photo ops at the famous Mile marker 0 of the Alaska Hwy. Explore Dawson Creek. The tour includes two nights but you may come earlier if you would like more time to explore the area. (Photo at Mile 0 on the Alaskan Hwy, Meet and Greet)
+Celebratory Dinner (included)
Drive to Fort Nelson (283 miles)
Drive to Liard Hot Springs (194 miles)- arrive and get ready to enjoy a soak in one of the best hot springs to be found. You will have the option of staying in the park next to springs (dry camp) or across the street in campground.
Drive to Watson Lake (135 miles)- this is where you will post your sign (optional) in the sign forest and if you would like take in a show on the Northern Lights (optional).
Places we stop for multiple nights: Skagway, Haines, Valdez, Tolsona, Palmer, Tok, Denali, Talkeetna, Fairbanks, Cooper Landing, Homer, Seward, Dawson Creek, Jasper, and Banff.
